Greenhouse Glass Terminology – Meaning of Scattering
Before talking about scattering glass, we need to first understand what a glass greenhouse is.
A glass greenhouse is a greenhouse in which glass is the main light-transmitting covering material and is a type of greenhouse. It has a long service life and is suitable for a variety of regions and climates. It can be divided into many different greenhouses for growing different plants.
Scattering glass is the main light-transmitting material of the greenhouse. Ordinary hollow float glass is used on the side walls of the greenhouse, and scattering glass is used on the top of the greenhouse.
The use of scattering glass in greenhouses can increase the number of greenhouses by more than 20% compared to transparent float glass greenhouses (tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, strawberries); and the content of vitamin C, vitamin E, and soluble sugar in fruits has increased significantly.
Greenhouse scattering glass uses a special pattern and anti-reflection process on the glass surface to maximize the conversion of sunlight into scattered light and enter the greenhouse, improving crop photosynthesis and increasing crop yields.
Compared with ordinary float glass and ordinary ultra-white glass, scattering glass has more advantages:
First scattering advantage
Scattering glass uses special patterns to turn the light entering the greenhouse into scattered light. Scattered light can illuminate the interior of the greenhouse more evenly. Eliminate the shadow effect brought by the skeleton to the greenhouse;
Second light transmission advantage
Compared with ordinary float glass and ultra-white float glass, the light transmittance standard of scattering glass is 91.5%, the light transmittance of ordinary float glass is 88%, and the light transmittance of ordinary ultra-white float glass is 90.5% . Every 1% increase in light transmittance inside the greenhouse can increase the total yield per mu by about 3%.
The third advantage of increasing production
Compared with other types of glass, scattering glass is based on light transmission. Compared with ordinary float glass and ultra-clear float glass, diffused glass can increase greenhouse output by more than 25%. Soluble sugar and vitamin C in fruits and vegetables are increased.
Fourth safety advantage
Greenhouse scattering glass adopts a process of first coating and then tempering, and the self-explosion rate is higher than the national standard, reaching 2‰.
Greenhouse scattering glass is also the main covering material of glass greenhouses at present. It can effectively ensure the output of the greenhouse while ensuring the light transmission and scattering effect.
