What is ultra-clear glass?
It’s a common misconception that clear glass is the most transparent, however, this actually is not the case. Although clear glass does not have substantially high iron content, it does have more than low-iron glass. These higher levels produce a greenish tint, gaining prominence as glass thickens. This is the result of the natural presence of iron oxide from elements such as sand, or from the cask or container whereby the glass was melted. This can cause issues within certain applications and uses.
Ultra-clear glass is also known as low iron glass. By reducing the iron content in the glass, the glass has a crystal texture visual. There is no greenish visual effect like ordinary clear glass, whether viewed from the front or the side. With high light transmission to 91.5%, it has superior mechanical, physical, and optical properties.
Moreover, it can do all secondary processes like clear float glass: Tempering, laminating, insulating, coating, curving, etc. Then, make ultra-clear toughened glass, ultra-clear laminated glass, ultra-clear curved glass, etc., for different glass products.
Benefits: Why choose low iron glass?
Low self-explosion rate
Firstly, its raw materials contain fewer impurities. In addition, the control is fine during the melting process of raw materials, making it a more uniform composition than clear float glass. As a result, it has a much lower self-explosion rate after tempering.
Color consistency
The iron content in the raw material is only 1/10 or even lower than that of clear glass. So low iron glass absorbs fewer green and purple bands in visible light than regular glass, ensuring the consistency of glass color.
High light transmission
Low iron glass has many industrial applications because of its unique high light transmittance of 91%. For example, using it as the substrate of the solar photoelectric system can dramatically improve the conversion efficiency.
Applications: Where to use ultra-clear glass?
Glass furniture, museum showcases, jewelry displays, high-end shopping malls, shopping mall spaces, brand stores, aquarium, etc.
Electronic products, automotive glass, solar cells, solar photovoltaic power generation systems, lighting fixtures, scanners, etc.
Building curtain walls, such as high-end hotels, city landmarks, government building projects, exhibition venues, etc.
The diffuse glass and AR-coated diffuse glass produced by Yuhua have cooperated with many large commercial greenhouses in agriculture, horticulture, nurseries and experiments. We have cooperated with large greenhouse project companies such as Havecon, Van Der Hoeven, Kubo, etc. for many years.
